The Year of the Ren Chen (Water Dragon) begins on 23^rd;January 2012 (according to the Lunar Calendar) and on the 4^th February 2012, (according to the Solar Calendar); 2012 is also the Chinese Year 4710. The Lunar Calendar is used for traditional Chinese New Year celebrations, as listed below, however keep in mind, the Solar Calendar is used when calculating the Feng Shui of the year and 4 Pillars/BaZi Astrology for individuals. Traditionally, it is considered good luck to greet people on the first day of the Chinese New Year with a friendly “Happy New Year”, or “Kung Hei Fat Choy (Gong Xi Fa Cai)", which means "congratulations on getting rich". The Chinese New Year can also be celebrated as follows:

10 Days Before Chinese New Year (13^th – 21^stJanuary): Clean your house and count your blessings! If there have been any recent arguments or illness in the home, space clear each room with a brass bell, singing bowl or gong. Light a sage smudge stick or some sandalwood incense or burn a mix of orange, bergamot and lavender essential oils, and let the cleansing scent help clear your home of any residual negative energy. Think back over the past year and give thanks for the positive influences in your life. Also, give thanks for the lessons learnt over the past year and view them as valuable learning experiences that will help better prepare you for the future.

New Year’s Eve (22^nd January): have a happy social gathering at home and encourage plenty of music, laughter and game playing with lots of lights turned on. Light sparklers at midnight to welcome the New Year energy into your home. Guests can be given a lucky red envelope containing a small gift or a handwritten wish for their health and happiness over the coming year. If you are attending a Chinese New Year party, consider bringing a gift (ie chocolates, cake, a fruit basket, dumplings, a healthy pot plant)

First Day of New Year (23^rd January): Clear your thoughts of all negativity and begin the New Year in a positive frame of mind. Spend time meditating on all the positive things you wish to achieve in the coming year. Celebrate the New Year energy with family. Visit, contact and spend quality time with parents and mentors (ie people who have been a nurturing/guiding light in your life).

Second Day of New Year (24^th January): Visit your in-laws and pay your respects to ancestors and family members who have passed on.

Third Day of New Year (25^th January): This day is best spent at home relaxing and unwinding with family. Try to avoid visiting others or having any visitors today. It’s a day best spent in restful meditation and planning for the year ahead.

Fifth Day of New Year (27^th January): Invite abundance energy into your home by replenishing water features with fresh, clean water in the lucky siang sin /water star 8 and 9 locations of your home according to the flying star natal chart of your house. This is also a good date to sign contracts (except if you were born in the year of the Snake) and pay homage to deities representing abundance and protection (eg Tsai Shen Yeh and Kuan Kung).

Seventh Day of New Year (29^th January): This is a positive time to spend with friends and attending fun social/networking gatherings and sharing a feast together. Give your friends food and flowers and best wishes for future health and abundance.

Eighth Day of New Year (30^th January): Share a special dinner with friends/work colleagues and loved ones discussing positive goals and aspirations for the coming year.

Ninth Day of New Year (31^st January): This is a great day to begin a cleansing diet to detox your system. Make sure you drink plenty of water and green tea. Pay homage to the Jade Emperor’s birthday and honour mentors, teachers and people who have shared their wisdom and insight with you.

Tenth Day of New Year (1^st February): Purchase a new lamp or candles for your home and place in the chor sin/mountain star 8 location of your home (according to the flying star natal chart) to support the health and relationship energy of the household.

Thirteenth Day of New Year (4^th February): Eat a healthy blend of fresh fruit and vegetables and plenty of water today to help cleanse your body and also focus on cleansing your mind and focusing on positive aspirations and ethical values. In business, a positive saying to inspire your thoughts for the coming year is as follows:

From a feng shui perspective, you should also place a gourd or gourd-shaped object (ie an empty gold, yellow, silver or white vase with a big belly, narrow neck and an opening at the top) in the North sector of your home, and a collection of metallic ornaments and/or I-Ching coins and a metallic windchime in the Southeast sector of your home to help protect against annual sickness and misfortune energies in 2012.

15^th Day of New Year (Lantern Festival) 6^th February: Spend some time in the light of the full moon, or if it's overcast, burn candles and sparklers and/or hang bright coloured lanterns and create your own festival of magical moonlight. Let go of any grudges or feelings of depression and focus on tying up loose ends and resolving any conflicts with others in readiness for new beginnings and the development of a positive new attitude.

Human Luck for Individually animal sign in 2012 year of the dragon – Man Luck

A very important concept to remember is that FULL Chinese Astrology reading examines NOT only the year of birth but also the Month, the Day and the Birth hour. It is difficult to predict just by the animal signs on how each year will affect each person individually at a very details level. Such animal sign astrology is not totally reliable as the system is only examined 12.5% (1/8) of the four pillars natal chart.

Furthermore, the animal signs astrology does not start on the Chinese New Year day. It starts at the individual’s birthday.

For more reliable assessment, it is recommended that to check the Four Pillars of Destiny fully with a reputable Chinese Astrology consultant.

Based on the yearly heavenly stem and earthly branch, some animal signs are more sensitive than the others. The most sensitive animal signs affecting by the Grand Duke or Tai Sui (太歲) in 2012 the year of the Dragon are the animal sings Dragon itself, the Dog, the Ox and the Goat.

The Heavenly Stem of 2012 is Yang Water Ren (壬). The Earthly Branch underneath is Yang Earth Chen (辰) and its animal sign is Dragon.

Yang Water on Yang Earth is in conflict. The Earth is underneath which is controlling the Water. So the Earth element has bigger effect.

In health issue, Earth element could be digestive system, food poisoning, skin and muscle problems. If there were more clashes and penalty in the Four Pillars natal chart, it may be skin cancer.

The Chen (辰Dragon) is part of the Xun Gwa (巽卦) and it is soft Wood element. It is related to the soft wood system in our body including, hair, the liver, the gall bladder, arms, legs and back.

So for animal signs Dragon, Dog, Ox and Goat, firstly, must eat healthily. The skin and muscle are directly link to the digestive system. Eat more fruit, vegetables and drink more water will help the digestive system to clear out some unwanted residues from the body. As the result it will make you healthier.

Dragon, Dog, Ox, Goat should also avoid going to the hospitals, funerals. Especially for those who were born in the year of 1961, 1997(Ox), 1946, 1970, 2006 (Dog), 1979(Goat) and 1928, 1988(Dragon).

If female Dragon, Dog, Ox and Goat (age 18 – 45) give birth in the year of Dragon, it will reduce a lot of bad energy and troublesome.

Do more exercises and make sure there is sweating for every exercise.

Be more active and think positively. Go out and see more people and make friends. Be more generous to others.

Donation of blood or having a blood test done in April and October will help reduce bad energy too.

Be nice to your parents, father or mother-in-law or other elderly, even telephone them more often will bring you better luck.

Clash means easily confrontation with others due to too stubborn on something (theories, ideals, and systems, religious). Beware of lawsuit and relationship issue. There will be changes for the Dogs, such as career change, job change, position shuffle internally, school change, moving house or traveling.

There is the “Da Ho” (大耗) star for the Dog. Da Ho means “Big spending” which is located in the Dog’s life house this year. So use your money wisely and carefully. It is wise to buy something which will become more valuable in the future. Avoid high risk investments in 2012 the year of Dragon.

Be very careful, Goat will make a lot of silly mistakes at work. So make sure plenty of rest and at least 7 hours sleep each night.

For working class, if you have a female supervisor or boss, your work will be appreciated and you will be easily getting a promotion provided that no paperwork issues.

There is a lucky star call “Nation Seal”國印 in the Goat palace. The “Nation Seal” gives the Goat power and control in 2012 year of the Dragon.

Your gossips and troubles including health issues, love and relationship around you will be fading away slowly and completely gone by your birthday month in 2012 year of the Dragon.

Animal sign Rabbit, in 2012 year of the dragon, there are 2 bad stars, sickness and six harms (病符, 六害) in the palace which will bring some health issue such as flu or tiredness and fatigue.
